The joys of winter…

There’s always something to do on the farm, but winter presents a whole new set of chores. Our least favorite task this time of year (but most important) is making sure the cattle always have fresh, unfrozen water. Early each morning, we bust through the ice in the troughs frozen overnight. The cattle don’t mind the extra chill though—their thick winter coats have come in and they are toastier than all of us!
